EMDR Consultation & CITs
EMDR Certification
It’s so exciting now that you’ve got your 10 hours of the initial consultation. These hours are truly the basics of what it takes to be an EMDR therapist.
Going for your certification is the next step in that journey. What I liken it to is having graduated with your degree and getting your associate hours. Developmentally, you’re still in the beginning learning stage and want to make sure you have really got everything down in order to be working with more complex trauma cases, or using RTEP for recent trauma events, or other areas you might want to specialize in.
I work with EMDR therapists to gain more experience and knowledge in their EMDR therapy practices in several areas.
Reviewing the basic tenets of EMDR therapy, as there is so much to learn in a relatively short period of time. It is often not until we are working with a particular client, on a particular issue, that questions come up.
Complex trauma
Single Incident Traumas
RTEP
Extended need for resourcing with clients
Suicide Loss Survivors
Suicide Attempt Survivors (Lived Experience)
Mass Violence Tragedies
Grief and Loss
These are just a shortlist of my specialties, although I do provide consultation in many other areas as well.
EMDR CITs
This is the next step after your certification. If you are someone who likes to provide guidance, knowledge, and support to other therapists, this is for you.
If you have never been a supervisor or consultant before, I am the one for you. I have been providing supervision and consultation in the mental health field for 30 years.
If you are interested, you will have the ability to work with me on becoming an Approved Consultant. You will be able to have consultees of your own who are working towards their Certification. You will also be offered the opportunity to work with me in my certification group as the lead consultant.
